Hailing from Virginia Beach, Lizzie is Southern Belle turned Brooklyn Bombshell.
Inspired by the rich history and culture of Brooklyn, this fiery Aries loves integrating vintage glam with a modern twist. She revels in the movement of a sun-kissed balayage, or the bold pop of an electric color project.
When she's not behind the chair, you'll likely find Lizzie strumming ukulele with The DeLorean Sisters, or exploring the city with her baby, Dottie J.
Christina grew up and received her education just south of Boston (You may pick up on this from her adorable accent). She loves all things alternative such as vivid colors to an edgy undercut, but also has a flare for the classic (Think Audrey Hepburn with kickass tattoos). Christina is a certified color expert with advanced training. She applies specialized techniques to create styles for all ages and gender, including makeovers from natural to theatrical. Friendly, upbeat and personable her goal is to create absolute comfort and trust while sitting in her chair. While not working in salon she continues to educate herself in her craft and enjoys finding inspiration from all things such as music, classic movies, photographs and even Mother Nature. Christina enjoys spending time with her tiny chihuahua Rocco hiking and exploring scenic areas within and outside of NYC.
Sarah is a warm presence whose adoration of people is what initially drew her to the industry. A Florida native, she's been in New York City for a few years and relishing every facet. Sarah is Paul Mitchell educated, and appreciates the constant continuing education that the industry encourages. It comes as no surprise that she draws inspiration from street style, architecture, music, and film; similarly ever-changing facets of culture. When she's not in the salon, Sarah is touching noses with her pitbull Edi or frolicking around Fort Greene.
In salon, Sarah encourages her clients to embrace their hair in it's natural state. She also thoroughly enjoys an elaborate, purposeful style, and always aims to make her clients feel their best, whatever the occasion. It is a top priority to educate everyone who sits in her chair about at-home care and styling so that the style achieved in salon can be re-created at home. Sarah has a passion for both cutting and colour, and prefers to introduce clients to changes in an informative, exciting, yet stress-free way; she takes pride in her attention to clients' needs and lifestyle when considering colour and cut.
Always drawn to fashion, art and design, Selvi discovered her passion for hair styling at age 18 while assisting her aunt in Stockholm, Sweden. She spent the next twenty years honing her skills and absorbing as much knowledge and training as possible while working at reputable salons such as Jose Eber, Warren Tricomi, Mark Garrison and Bumble & Bumble. Selvi is very comfortable on set, and has styled hair for NYFW presentations, countless celebrities, TV spots, and music videos; she continues to collaborate regularly with renowned photographer Fadil Berisha. She has found her second home at Soon Beauty Lab in Brooklyn, and finds that the most rewarding part of hairdressing is corrective color overhauls and substantial transformations. She likes minimal, clean shapes with beautiful, visible texture. Selvi takes pride in customising each client with her vision and energy regardless of trends. The only things she loves more than her career is hugging and and eating hot dogs.
Rain’s playful curiosity and warmth allows clients to feel relaxed in her chair and able to really talk through the cut, color, and style they desire. Her skill and expertise coupled with inherent artistic nature allow for a personalized expression suited to each clients needs.
During her 15+ years in the industry, Rain has trained under some of San Francisco’s hair pioneers as well as leading industry innovators like Goldwell, Bumble and Bumble, Kerastase, Oribe and Kevin Murphy. Her love of learning, versatility and knowledge allow her to offer clients new approaches in achieving their desired look. Rain draws inspiration from very diverse areas like new landscapes, bold street styles, fashion, and nature. From subtle balayage techniques and precision cuts to spunky fashion color statements, braids and updos, undercuts with lines or “hair tattoo designs”.
Esther began her journey into hairdressing as an art student and views hairdressing as a art- painting while applying color and sculpting while personalizing each clients haircut. With her Brooklyn charm, each client has a sense of comfort while in her chair. Her goal is to ensure that each client walks past the mirror loving what they see, leaving the salon with a boost of confidence. Certified in Hotheads & SoCap Hair Extensions, Esther has the skill to truly transform her clients hair.
Christina is a true New Yorker born and raised with an influential upbringing around the hottest trends & styles. She has 11+ years of experience and is very passionate about making her clients look & feel great. Christina has a careful eye for detail and a unique approach towards balayage, color correction, hair extensions, and curly hair.
Brandon is thrilled to be a member of the Soon Beauty Lab team as a Senior Stylist. Hair has been a part of his life since the beginning. With his mother as a stylist, he spent much of his time growing up in a salon environment, and it inevitably rubbed off on him. He attended the AVEDA Institute in Chicago, IL and Being a perfectionist, he has a deep love for learning and continues to seek education every day. This shines through with every cut and color he does. The inspiration for his work is ignited by current trends, NYC street style, and his own free-spirited and endearing personality. In Brandon’s free time you can find him in his new home of Bushwick, walking his dog Lucy!
Brandon Hoover is a Stylist at our Manhattan location, where he sculpts every clients hair like a work of art. After winning Washington DC's stylist of the year award in 2012, he left the nations capital to pursue a more vibrant challenging career in the Big Apple. From meticulously crafted clipper cuts and sculpted haircuts to colors that pop and textures that tousle Brandon’s talents are as diverse as New York City itself. As a graduate of the Paul Mitchel school, Brandon developed his styling skills at the SACO academy in London where he specialized in men’s cutting and editorial styling. If you’re looking for precision based scissor and clipper cuts for any hair type and texture look no further. A self proclaimed little monster with an obsession with the cosmos, when Brandon’s not in the salon he enjoys “daddy-daughter” time with his Shiba inu, Kepler.
Tiffany came to Soon Beauty Lab from Los Angeles, CA. Having accumulated a diverse education from some of the most revered names in the hair industry including Oribe, Kevin Murphy, R+CO, Wella, Vivienne Mackinder, Paul Mitchell and many others. She places a high value on continued growth resulting in long standing relationships with her guests with her beloved craft to produce beautiful work. Tiffany's interests are all things blonde, balayage/foilage, funky colors, textured cuts, and chic voluminous bouncy blowout styles. When she isn't at the salon, you may catch her on set styling, taking meditation yoga, cycling or getting in touch with nature where she fuels her passion to create.
Caitlin is a Queens, New York native who is inspired daily by the city's art and style. Applying the principles of design from her background in Fashion, she specializes in women’s haircuts and dimensional color. Whether it's a trim, a big change, subtle highlights or new bold color, Caitlin delights in finding a style to suit each individual.
When not in the salon, you'll find her crocheting or sewing, as well as learning new skills to further advance her hair education.
Justine comes to us from the West Coast with sunshine and smiles, but has called Brooklyn home for several years now. Justine has not only worked as a stylist since 2007, but has also had the unique opportunities to use her craft in the theatre and the fashion worlds. She pulls inspiration from her past experiences as well as through the vibrant people watching of the city! Justine loves the transformative quality of hairstyling. She believes that whether it is a dramatic change, a special occasion style, or a style refresh... it's the smallest details that elevate a style!
Beyond hair she makes jewelry, loves good food and wine, and is fascinated by ocean life.
Nanci grew up in California and moved to New York to pursue her career in hair. She really enjoys all aspects of her trade, yet favors long layered haircuts combined with natural, luscious color the most. She gets her inspiration for hair from current fashion trends as well as working with her clients’ natural texture and temperament. In her free time, Nanci is working on her artwork and has started taking piano lessons.
